The DDPA requests Minister Peter Burke, Chairperson of the Planning Advisory Forum, to join the forum as a voice for democratic planning.
In a letter addressed to Peter Burke TD, Minister of State for Planning and Chairperson of the Planning Advisory Forum, to request to join this forum as a voice for the ordinary citizen.
The current composition of the forum is very heavily weighted in favour of senior public servants, who have been responsible for managing planning to date; financially invested lobbying groups, who have driven planning changes in the recent past; and professional bodies, who represent their members.
The Planning Advisory Forum lacks representation for the ordinary citizen, a role the DDPA hopes to play.
The in letter to Minister Burke, we detail the DDPA's background, objectives and immediate requests to the forum.
